Italian food is one of the most popular cuisines in the UK. From pizza to pasta, we love it all and when in the country’s capital city, one isn’t short of great restaurants. As there is so much choice of Italian restaurants in London, we’ve picked three of the best to make deciding where to go a little easier.

From authentic dishes in the city centre to antipasti with a view in Canary Wharf, these three restaurants, although very different, provide some of the wonderful things both Italy and London have to offer. Read ahead to see where you should be dining next in the capital city…

Bar Remo – Oxford Circus

When in the centre of London, deciding where to eat can be a hard decision. However, Bar Remo is the perfect, rustic Italian restaurant to escape the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and feel like you’ve been transported to traditional Italy. Remo is family friendly, has a great atmosphere and boasts an authentic menu at a great price. Having been family run for more than 90 years, the food is perfect and just what you need after a long day shopping, sightseeing or working! With pizzas starting at just £8.50, a steal in the capital, and pasta starting at £10, these delicious dishes will leave you feeling satisfied without breaking the bank!

Bernardi’s – Marylebone

This modern, Italian restaurant is light, airy and polished, perfect for after work nibbles, or, if on the odd chance you get some rare London sun, a glass of wine on the terrace is the perfect city experience. Not only offering, fantastic, clean cut meals, Bernardi’s also offers a fabulous cocktail list, which is great to taste during their happy hour, Monday to Friday, 3 pm – 6:30 pm, nestled away in the basement the cocktail bar offers a more cosy setting than the bright, open space the dining room has to offer. On the menu, there are some great sharing options, with the pasta and main courses taking centre stage. If you can manage a dessert after the wine, pasta, and mains, then the chocolate ganache, orange, and pistachio is the best way to end the night!

Bella Cosa – Canary Wharf

An Italian hotspot, favoured by many business people in the Canary Wharf district, Bella Cosa has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, catering to everyone. Downstairs offers a relaxed bar area, where you can pick at tasty bar snacks, such as a bruschetta selection and even share one of the many pizzas Bella Cosa has to offer. Upstairs is a more formal dining space with great views over the water, offering both a set menu and an a la carte menu! If it’s a more traditional dish you desire, the rich gnocchi with a gorgonzola sauce is fantastic paired with one of the many wines Bella Cosa has to offer. Or if it’s a more modern dish you want, the mains have something for everyone. The perfect restaurant for any occasion, situated on the quieter side of Canary Wharf.
