Travel site Hooroo calls on the nation to submit Australia’s ‘Secret Spots’
In your Australian travels, have you ever ventured off the beaten track? Hooroo, a new social travel website, today launches a nationwide search to uncover Australia’s ‘Secret Spots.’ Recognising the desire of Aussie travellers to discover and share places and experiences,Hooroo is inviting Aussies from all walks of life to share their favourite ‘in the know’ travel experiences or destinations from across the country.‘Secret Spots’ can range from a historic pub that serves the best Sunday roast, the room with the view you’ll never forget, a winding coastal walk with sparkling views or even an unmarked café that brews its own coffee. The only requirement is that fellow Australians will be able to visit or experience your ‘Secret Spot’ and it isn’t already a well-known tourist destination.
Hooroo’s Head of Marketing, Lija Wilson said, ‘There is a well-known saying that travel is only thing you buy that makes you richer and we are thrilled to be launching a nationwide search to uncover Australia’s best kept ‘Secret Spots’. Hooroo is calling on the nation to enrich their fellow Aussies with their most beloved, exciting and unique Australian travel destinations and experiences.’
An expert panel of judges consisting of well-respected travel and lifestyle influencers, will shortlist the entries, with the top 40 being put to a public vote (from 3rd– 17th December) to reveal a Hooroo community crowd-sourced list of the top five ‘in the know’ travel experiences or destinations across Australia. Nominations are open from 14th November – 28th November and Hooroo will reveal the top five Australian ‘Secret Spots’ in January, which will then feature in a national publicity campaign.
